If you're looking for an imagination aid you probably should get one of the many, many rain recordings that include thunder. True.
*No thunder or tropical bird calls; no sudden noises (or silences) of any kind. I purchased this CD 3 or 4 years ago and now put it on endless repeat every night before bed.
If you plan on playing this on a player with weak speakers or to cover a lot of heavy noise, you'll need extra amplification somehow.*One reviewer complained that there is not a lot of variation. Easy to drift off to sleep or to meditate without distraction.
Heavenly.*It is a bit soft -- I have to turn the CD player up fairly loud to make sure the rain sounds are at an appropriate level, similar to listening to rain outside my bedroom window. It's a just steady rain, not a weather drama.
But if you're looking for a soothing natural soundscape to provide white noise I've never heard anything better.
Not recommended for those with diabetes or enlarged prostate, as they feel the urge to micturate frequently enough as it is.
I've got a couple Altec Lansing desktop speakers with a bass box tapped into my rig, volume at about 50%, and it sounds like it's raining outside with the windows open. Nothing more, nothing less.If you are looking for something else, go somewhere else.But if you're looking for sweet, beautiful rain and nothing more, this is the recording for you.I came across this CD several years ago at the Palm Springs Library. It's a recording of rain, folks. I live in San Diego, one block from the I-5, and the combination of digital rain and freeway is fabulous.I'm a tinitus guy and I need something going in the background, and this CD works for me. I checked it out often, and would let it roll for hours when I was home going about my business (rain sounds good in the desert, you know.).I moved, time passed, but I remembered this recording over the years, assuming it was long gone. On a lark I googled "rain recording" or something like that, and lo and behold, there it was, alive and well on Amazon.I'm listening to it as I'm typing this, on my laptop. A Day on Cape Cod: Summer RainWe had this CD years ago and it was lost.We use it for "white noise" when we sleep at night. It's a nice steady rain fall sound with no sudden noises such as thunder or loud chirping birds.If you use white noise to sleep by, I highly recommend this recording.
My wife loves the sound of rain. She fell asleep one minute into this CD.It starts out with heavy rain, lightens up in the middle, then heavy rain at the end, just like real rain.
